  • Moisture Resistance: No absorption or hydrolysis when immersed in water for 10 days.

Chemical Properties

  • Purity: Up to 99.99% BN, with minimal metal impurities (<10 ppm) .

  • Chemical Inertness: Resistant to acids, alkalis, salts, and organic reagents at room temperature. Slight corrosion occurs in molten salts and alkalis, but it resists most acids at high temperatures .

  • Non-Reactivity: Does not react with most molten metals, semiconductors, or their compounds.

Thermal Properties

  • Thermal Conductivity: Anisotropic, with values of 60 W/m·K (parallel to the "a" axis) and 2.6 W/m·K (parallel to the "c" axis) at 200°C 

  • Thermal Shock Resistance: Excellent, with no cracking observed even at 2000°C 

  • Maximum Temperature: Can withstand up to 2500°C in a vacuum

  • Dielectric Strength: 56 kV/mm at room temperature
