XTL sintyron Feedthroughs Weldable Vacuum Ceramic Breaks

Vacuum feedthroughs are essential components in many vacuum systems, allowing for the transfer of electrical signals, fluids, or gases from outside the vacuum chamber to inside without compromising the vacuum integrity. Ceramic vacuum feedthroughs are commonly used for their high temperature resistance, excellent electrical insulation properties, and compatibility with aggressive chemicals.

XTL Precision offers a complete line of vacuum breaks, also known as electrical isolators, for demanding

ultra-high vacuum (UHV) applications and environments. Composed of metal adapters brazed to each

end of an insulating ceramic tube that provides voltage isolation between the conductive metal ends,

vacuum breaks provide an electrical break between the vacuum chamber and other external components,

as well as electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection of sensitive components in the vacuum system. 

Constructed using high-purity alumina ceramic insulators hermetically bonded to low-expansion metal

sleeve adapters, the electrical breaks are attached to other vacuum components such as flanges, bellows,

chambers and weldables using MDC’s proprietary UHV brazing techniques. All materials and braze alloys

used are vacuum grade and chosen for their specific characteristics and ability to maintain the integrity of

the seals for use in demanding applications and environments. A maximum thermal gradient of 25°C per

minute must be observed to preserve the life of the seal. Weldable vacuum breaks are typically installed

using one of the following fusing processes: laser, electron-beam or TIG welding. 


Our Ceramic Breaks(liquid type) are specially designed for the transmission of liquids.
The inside structure is smooth, which can effectively prevent the liquid from staying inside even when

the flow stops. (As shown above)

The varying thermal expansion of different materials can cause cracks on the surface of ceramics. To

prevent the ceramic parts from cracking, many companies will leave a gap on the joint part to relax

the thermal stress.
Instead of leaving a gap on the joint, we created a less susceptible design to thermal stress, and our 

special brazing technology allows our product to be excellent in corrosion resistance to pure water.

·Constructed of vacuum-grade materials, including high-purity alumina ceramic insulation,

304 stainless steel or low-expansion Kovar weldable lips, and vacuum grade braze alloys
·CF flanged breaks feature one fixed and one rotatable flange (through-hole bolt holes)
·Available in tube sizes ranging from 1/2" to 8" nominal diameters
·Larger-diameter assemblies have tapered seals to minimize stress caused by differential

expansion during thermal cycling.
